Driving lasting literacy outcomes
When New Jersey set out to strengthen foundational literacy instruction statewide, ASU Prep Global partnered with their educators and leaders to design a program that worked for every district.
Together, we built a flexible learning model mixing live and self-paced sessions to reach teachers wherever they were. Over seven focused sessions, educators explored core literacy skills like phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension, while school leaders joined a statewide webinar on building data-informed literacy systems.
The result? Stronger collaboration across districts, new confidence in literacy leadership and measurable impact that reached tens of thousands of students and set the stage for long-term literacy growth.
Supporting school leaders
Beyond our PD programming, ASU Prep equips school and district leaders with the guidance and tools needed to drive strong, systemwide implementation of Science of Reading practices, including:
- A clear understanding of the research and instructional shifts behind the Science of Reading
- Practical coaching moves to support teachers at every stage of implementation
- Frameworks for observing instruction and offering actionable feedback
- Tools for analyzing schoolwide data to inform planning and progress monitoring
- Strategies for building literacy plans aligned to district priorities
Whether leaders are new to the Science of Reading or deepening existing expertise, the sessions help create consistent expectations, strengthen implementation across classrooms, and build a unified approach to improving student outcomes.
